Euro-Aspire & WorldSkills 2011 in London, UK2011-09-05 |
Showcasing the Aspire toolkit & framework...
Collage Arts and WAC Performing Arts and Media College have been invited on behalf of the Euro-Aspire partnership to represent the Creative Industries and Non Formal Learning sector at the WorldSkills London 2011 event from 5-8 October at the ExCel Centre. The Euro-Aspire stand will highlight the learning, enterprise and employment opportunities in the industry, including the new Creative Apprenticeships, and give visitors the chance to try out activities in digital media, video, music and performance.
This work forms a key part of Euro-Aspire’s wider goal of promoting its work and profiling the work of the non-formal creative learning sector. The 2011 WorldSkills event brings together students and organisations from across the world to demonstrate their technical skills and compete against their peers. First held in 1950, WorldSkills has since grown to become the world’s largest international vocational skills competition, representing a real opportunity for employers to engage with the next generation of the workforce and show how exciting the creative industries can be.
The WorldSkills event is the ideal forum for talented people to shine. It is expected that over 150,000 people will attend over the four days of the event, watching 1,000 competitors from across the world compete in 45 skills areas. The Make It Happen exhibition is another major attraction with a wide range of organisations represented at the exhibition, including public and private sector employers, further education colleges and charities.
